LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 8)- The Saint Vincent men's golf team placed second at their home invitational at Latrobe Country Club on Monday afternoon.
The Bearcats finished six shots behind the winning Pitt-Bradford Panthers who recorded a team total of 308.
Matt Edwards and
Brendan Cooley were the Bearcats top finishers in the event, both finishing tied for third with rounds of 75. Edwards recorded two birdies and 11 pars, while Cooley totaled four birdies and eight pars on his card.
Owen Miele and
Evan Bower were Saint Vincent's next two finishers on their top placing team. Miele recorded a round of 80 with one birdie and Bower shot an 84 with three birdies on his card.
Owen Dzurko carded an 87 with eight pars for the top Bearcats team.
For the other competing Saint Vincent team,
Logan Clark carded a round of 81 with two birdies, while
David Newsom and
Luke Sell both shot rounds of 82. Newsom recorded two birdies, while Sell totaled nine pars.
Alex Leskovansky shot an 85 and
Jack Mason carded a round of 87 with one birdie each for the Bearcats as well.
Jeffrey Crowley shot a 99 and
Benjamin Sroufe carded a 105 competing individually for Saint Vincent. Both Crowley and Sroufe totaled two pars each.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Monday, September 22, competing in the La Roche University Invitational. Tee times are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park, Pa.
