Four from women's basketball earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. (Mar. 25)- Four Saint Vincent women's basketball student athletes earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, announced by the CSC earlier this week.

Seniors Camdon Bashor and Makenna Maier, along with juniors Danielle Pontius and Olivia Yancy all earned the award for the Bearcats.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games and starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.

Bashor and Maier both closed their Saint Vincent careers out in fashion, helping lead the Bearcats to a Presidents Athletic Conference regular season championship and the PAC Championship game against W&J.

Maier earned the All-PAC Second Team honors. The senior forward led Saint Vincent, averaging 12.2 PPG, while also grabbing 5.7 RPG. Maier shot an impressive 47% from the field and led the PAC with a 43% FG percentage from the three point arc. Maier scored in double figures in 19 different games for SVC during the season, while scoring a season high 26 points in the Bearcats win against La Roche on December 19. She was finished the season third in the country in field goal percentage (43.92%). Maier was also named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team.

Bashor was second on the team in both scoring (9.4 PPG) and rebounding (5 RPG) en route to her All-PAC Honorable Mention honor. Bashor scored in double figures in 14 different games for the Bearcats. She had her best game of the season in SVC's win against Bethany on December 1 when she recorded a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Bearcats.

Yancy played in all 28 games with 15 starts for the Bearcats. The junior guard averaged 7.3 PPG, 2 RPG, and 1.6 APG over the course of her junior season. She was an efficient 32% from the three point line and 77% from the free throw line. Yancy scored in double figures in seven different games for the Bearcats.
