STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Mar. 29)- The Saint Vincent men's golf team placed 10th overall in the 22-team field at the Penn State Altoona PA Classic at the Penn State Blue Course.
Brendan Cooley was the Bearcats top finisher at the two-day event, placing fifth overall in the field of 120 golfers. Cooley fired a round of 71 (-1) at the opening round on Saturday, before following that up with a round of 78 in the final round on Sunday. He totaled 21 pars and four birdies over his two rounds for SVC.
Owen Miele recorded a top-60 finish for SVC, finishing 56th at the event. He recorded back-to-back rounds of 80 over the two days for SVC. He recorded 19 pars and a birdie over his two rounds.
Matt Edwards (63rd) and
Owen Dzurko (69th) finished within one shot of each other. Edwards carded rounds of 83 and 78, while Dzurko recorded scores of 85 and 77 for the Bearcats. Edwards recorded five birdies over his two rounds, while Dzurko totaled three birdies of his own in the two rounds.
Evan Bower recorded a two-day total of 164, shooting rounds of 88 and 76 for SVC. He recorded three birdies, two of which came in the final round for Saint Vincent.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Friday, April 3, competing in the two-day Premier Collegiate Invitational at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Delaware, Pa. Tee times are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
