TRAFFORD, Pa. (Apr. 14)- The Presidents Athletic Conference released their 2026 men's volleyball major awards along with the All-Conference team's.
Saint Vincent highlighted the awards with Head Coach
Kate McCauley being named the PAC Coach of the Year,
Jackson Genicola being named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and
Jack Ryan was named the PAC Newcomer of the Year.
Along with the three major awards, six Bearcats were named to the All-Conference team's as well. Seniors
Shawn McSwiggen and
Zebadiah Wyant, along with the sophomore Genicola were all named to the All-PAC First Team. Ryan, the freshman setter, was named to the All-PAC Second Team and sophomore middle hitter
Rocco Marino and freshman middle Braedan Artman were named to the All-PAC Honorable Mention team.
McCauley lands her second career Coach of the Year award and first in the PAC. The fifth year head coach led the Bearcats to an impressive 14-5 overall record, including a 10-2 mark in the PAC, clinching the number two seed in the PAC Playoffs. McCauley guided the Bearcats to their third straight conference tournament semifinals appearance and second in a row in the PAC.

In route to his Defensive Player of the Year and All-PAC First Team honors, Genicola led the PAC in digs/set (3.44) and ranked third in the conference in total digs with 210. The sophomore defensive specialist recorded double digit digs in 11 of the Bearcats 19 games over the course of the season. He committed just 11 reception errors over the course of the year and recorded 25 assists as well. His top performance of the season came in the Bearcats win against Grove City on Feb. 21, where he recorded 24 total digs for SVC.
Ryan was the top freshman all season in the PAC in route to his Newcomer of the Year and All-PAC Second Team honors. Ryan led the PAC in assists/set (9.69), while finishing in the top five in the conference with 630 total digs. The freshman setter also ranked sixth in the PAC in digs/set (2.14) with 139 total digs in 65 sets played for Saint Vincent. Ryan recorded four double-doubles over the course of the year for SVC. He recorded a season-high 44 assists in four different games, including his first career collegiate game against Trine.
McSwiggen and Wyant were the Bearcats top two offensive players throughout the season. The duo ranked second and third in the PAC in kills/set with McSwiggen recording 3.63 and Wyant totaling 3.39. Wyant also ranked ninth in the conference in hitting percentage, with a .255 percentage over the course of the season for SVC. Wyant and McSwiggen both ranked in the top-five in service aces as well, Wyant totaling 33 in 59 sets and McSwiggen recording 29 in 63 sets for SVC. McSwiggen recorded double digit kills in 15 different matches for SVC, while recording a season-high 21 kills on March 18 against Grove City. Wyant totaled double digit kills in 11 different matches, including a career-high 20 kills in the Bearcats win against Hiram on February 25.
Marino and Artman were key pieces to the Bearcats front line over the course of the season. Artman and Marino both ranked in the top-10 in the PAC blocks up front. Artman totaled 57 blocks, including 19 solo blocks in 65 sets to finish fourth in the PAC in that category, while Marino totaled 45 blocks, including 21 solo blocks in 61 sets to rank 10th in the PAC in that category. Artman recorded a season-high nine total blocks in the Bearcats loss at Chatham on March 28, while Marino recorded seven total blocks in the Bearcats PAC Semifinals loss to Chatham last Thursday.
Additionally,
Tyler Nelson was named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team for the Bearcats. Nelson recorded 127 kills, 27 assists, and 10 service aces over the course of the season for the Bearcats.
