The Saint Vincent women's basketball team opened the conference portion of the schedule with a 77-57 victory on the road at Thiel College in Greenville, PA.
The Bearcats scored the game's first 12 points, then ran the lead to 24-2 in the first ten minutes of play and never looked back.
Thiel managed to cut the lead to 15 at the half, 41-26, but never got closer than 11 points as Saint Vincent, ranked #21 in the nation, improved to 5-0 overall on the year.
Devin McGrath led Saint Vincent with 20 points and 10 rebounds. She also added six steals.
Brittany Sedlock scored 13 points, while
Emily Fenton added 12 and
Caty Kumar tallied 10.
The SVC defense was dominant, forcing 39 turnovers on the night. Fenton and
Maria Baroffio each recorded 7 steals. Baroffio added six assists on offense.
Kelly Muffley led the Tomcats (0-5) with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
Saint Vincent will return to action on Saturday, facing Westminster College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup on the road at 2PM.
