The Saint Vincent women cruised to a 62-37 win on the road over Chatham University in conference play.
SVC led by just three points, 24-21, late in the first half but ended the half with an eight-point run, then outscored the hosts 30-16 in the final twenty minutes.
Saint Vincent jumped to an early 18-4 advantage behind six points each from
Brittany Sedlock and
Devin McGrath. However, the Cougars then went on a 12-4 run, making it a 22-16 game. After another score by Sedlock with 3:55 left in the first half made it 24-16, but the next five points would belong to the hosts, as they made it a three-point game with 1:55 to go.
Emily Fenton then connected on a pair of three-pointers, helping to build the lead to eight, 32-21, at the break.
The second half was all Saint Vincent, as nine different players scored and the team improved to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
Sedlock led all scorers with 14 points and 16 rebounds in just 25 minutes of play. Fenton added 12 points, while
Melissa Mansur scored 9 and
Elle Collins added 8. Fenton also tallied seven steals, as SVC caused 32 Chatham turnovers on the day.
Chatham (2-4 overall, 0-2 PAC) was led by Lizz King, who scored 12 points.
Saint Vincent will return to action on Wednesday night, hosting Grove City College at 5:30PM in the Carey Center in a PAC matchup.
