The Saint Vincent women's basketball team defeated visiting Grove City College by the score of 73-53.
The Bearcats were only 24 first half points shy of matching their 67 point total from this past weekend's victory at Chatham University.
Saint Vincent took a 43-28 lead into the half of the Presidents' Athletic Conference contest. With the help of a 20-0 run spanning almost seven minutes and clutch play from game high scorer
Brittany Sedlock (21), the Bearcats were able to erase a 9-0 run by the Wolverines and take control of the game.
Grove City came out strong jumping out to an early 8-7 lead in the first five minutes of play. After the Bearcats took a brief 9-8 lead (14:20), the Wolverines went on a 9-0 run to make the score 17-9.
With 11:25 left to play in the first half, the Bearcats went on a 20-0 run that showcased the scoring abilities of five different Bearcat players.
The run finally ended for the Bearcats with 3:48 left in the first half when Megan Gebrosky hit a deep 3-pointer.
Grove City had the chance to bring the game within 13 points at the half, but senior
Melissa Mansur blocked a last second shot to end the half.
Right off the inbound to start the second half, Sedlock showed she was not only a post player as she hit a deep three for the first points of the second half. The three sparked an opening 9-0 run for the Bearcats.
From this point on, the Bearcats and Wolverines exchanged baskets, but the Bearcats never let the Wolverines back within 14 points the rest of the game.
The Bearcats capitalized on opportunities at the free throw line in the last six minutes of regulation as they made seven trips to the line and converting on six of the attempts from the hands of
Jordan Clinton,
Emily Fenton, and Kelly Sedlock.
Saint Vincent improved their record to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the President's Athletic Conference.
The Bearcats' next opponent will be on the road Saturday when they travel to Thiel College for a 1PM game.

Elle Collins recorded 12 points and 3 steals……Kelsey Shirey had 15 points for Grove City while Gebrosky added 13.
