The Saint Vincent women's basketball team rolled to an 80-67 win over Geneva College on the road, improving to 19-2 on the season.

SVC scored the game's first six points -- five from Emily Fenton -- and never trailed throughout the game.  The lead ran to ten, 19-9, after another trey by Fenton, who had 13 points in the first half.

The Golden Tornadoes got within four with less than four minutes remaining, 26-22, and later cut the gap to just three, 28-25, near the two minute mark.  However, SVC ended the half on a 9-point run to take a 37-25 lead into the half.

The second half started exactly how the first half ended -- with a 9-point Saint Vincent run, making the score 46-25.  The lead ran as high as 24 points after a Savannah Hardy score at the 13 minute mark that made it 56-32.

Geneva fought back, making it a 10-point game, 72-62, with two minutes left, but Devin McGrath hit several free throws in the closing seconds to keep the hosts at bey.

McGrath led SVC with 23 points, while Brittany Sedlock added 20.  Maria Baroffio scored 16, while Fenton tallied 13.  Sedlock was tops on the team with 11 rebounds, while McGrath grabbed 7.

For Geneva, Alyse Scarsella had a career night, scoring 27 points and grabbing 17 rebounds.  She was 9-for-18 from the floor and 9-for-12 from the free throw line.

With the loss, Geneva drops to 8-13 on the season.

Saint Vincent will be back in action on Wednesday, hosting Bethany College in conference action at the Carey Center at 6PM.
