Liz Basile-Louison scored six goals, including the 100th of her career, in the Bearcats' 17-6 season-ending victory over visiting West Virginia Wesleyan on Senior Day on the Saint Vincent Turf.
Basile-Louison, who also added an assist, became the third player in program history to eclipse the 100-goal plateau, and she wraps up her career with 138 career points. She was one of seven goal scorers in the win for SVC, which snaps its five-game losing streak and ends the year with a 2-8 mark.
The Bearcats wasted little time getting on the board, as
Kelly Naugle scored off an assist from Basile-Louison just 32 seconds into the first half. After goals from
Nora Posival, Basile-Louison, and
Emily Fedor, the Bearcat lead would eventually stretch to 4-0 just 3:41 into play, before the Bobcats would counter with a pair of unanswered tallies to cut the deficit to two, 4-2, at the 20-minute mark.
Saint Vincent would answer by scoring the final three goals of the half - two from Basile-Louison and one from Fedor- to take a 7-2 halftime lead, before the Bearcats would put the game away with a big start to the second half.
Alyssa Lang scored twice, and
Maggie Garvey once, in the opening two minutes of the second stanza to push the Bearcats in front 9-2, before Posival and
Megan Fisher would score two minutes apart to give Saint Vincent a 12-2 advantage with 22:34 left in regulation.
The teams would then trade goals over the final stretch, with Basile-Louison scoring three times over the final 12 minutes, and Garvey and Naugle once apiece, as the Bearcats walked off the windswept turf with the rousing 11-goal victory.
Saint Vincent out-shot the Bobcats 41-20 on the day, while forcing 29 West Virginia Wesleyan turnovers. Bearcat goalie
Meghan Reiser, in her final appearance in the green and gold, earned the win in net, making nine saves. Fedor led the Bearcats with six ground balls, with Fisher,
Annie Roslonski, and Kerri Tittinger added four grounders apiece.
The Bobcats were led on the scoresheet by Kelly Steen, who scored two goals. Nisha Nadkar, Sydney Welch, Kaitlyn Denby, and Jessica Lehman all had one goal for West Virginia Wesleyan, while Ashley Ferguson gathered a team-high four ground balls and goalie Marissa Wright made 13 saves in defeat.
