The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day in fine fashion, establishing a new school record for goals in a game with a 29-1 win over Thiel College at Chuck Noll Field.

The win moves the Bearcats' record to 7-2 on the year, as the team is off to its best start since the 2005 campaign.

Twenty one different players recorded at least one point on the day, while Saint Vincent had 19 different goal scorers en-route to out-shooting the Tomcats 74-12.  The hosts put the game away early, taking a 9-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, before increasing their advantage to 17-1 at halftime.

The Bearcats owned a big 56-24 advantage in ground balls, led the the trio of Kearney, DeLanoy, and Clark Williams, who all had four apiece, while seven other players had three GB's.  Saint Vincent was also strong on the faceoff, winning 25 of 33 draws, topped by Kevin Adams' 10-for-11 performance in the circle.

While the 29 goals established a new school record, the one goal scored by Thiel was the fewest surrendered by a Bearcat team since a 22-0 victory over Seton Hill in March 2005.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, when it welcomes Bethany College to Latrobe for a game scheduled for 4pm.
