A goal just over five minutes into play proved to be the difference in a 1-0 loss by the Bearcats against Heidelberg University in the second day of the Kiwanis Classic Tournament hosted by Wilmington College in Ohio.

At the 5:21-mark, Heidelberg's Joe Trejo scored the only goal of the game on a header on a set play off a corner kick.

For the game, Heidelberg held a 25-15 advantage on shots, with both teams recording four shots on goal.

Senior Jake Gilbertson suffered the loss in goal while making three saves and Heidelberg keeper Ryan Smith totaled four saves in the shutout.

The Bearcats are off until Thursday, Sept. 15 when they host Mount Aloysius at 4 p.m. on the SVC Turf.

NOTEBOOK....Bearcat sophomore defender Luke D'Amico was named to the All-Tournament Team...With the loss, SVC falls to 0-4 this season...Heidelberg improves to 1-2-1 on the year.
