The Saint Vincent women cruised to a 66-44 victory over visiting Westminster College in Presidents' Athletic Conference action in the Carey Center.

The Bearcats got on the board quickly in the first half as senior Emily Fenton hit a three pointer just 20 seconds into play. Saint Vincent would never trail the rest of the afternoon.

Junior Devin McGrath capped an 8-0 run over the first two minutes of the game to give the hosts the early lead. A bucket from Westminster's Danielle Gilmore made the score 11-5 Saint Vincent with 14:23 remaining and was as close as the game would get the rest of the way.

Junior Melissa Mansur scored the game's next seven points, capped-off by a three pointer with 12:51 left in the half, giving the Bearcats the 18-5 lead.

The Titans' Emily Montone made the score 18-9 with 11:40 remaining before the Bearcats closed the half in dominating fashion. Saint Vincent scored 22 of the game's next 26 points.

Freshman Jessica Welch started the hot streak with a three to make it 21-9 Saint Vincent. The Bearcats had a balanced scoring attack over the final ten minutes of the first half and junior Savannah Hardy closed the half's scoring with a jumper with eight seconds remaining to put Saint Vincent ahead 40-13 at the break.

The Bearcats shot 41% in the first half and held the Titans to 19% shooting from the floor. Saint Vincent forced 13 Westminster turnovers in the first half and outrebounded the Titans by a 26-18 margin.

Mansur led all scorers with nine points in the opening half, while Fenton and senior Brittany Sedlock chipped in with eight points each. Sophomore Ariel Rocco pulled down eight boards and McGrath grabbed seven to pace the Bearcats on the glass in the first half.

The second half started better for the Titans as Courtney Zitt scored seven points in the first three-and-a-half minutes for Westminster. A three-point point play from Sedlock with 15:58 left made the score 51-20 in favor of the hosts.

The two teams traded buckets over the next five minutes before the Titans went on a 10-0 run capped by a three pointer from Jess Cantella. The Westminster run cut the Saint Vincent lead to 21, 57-36, with under ten minutes remaining. That was as close as the game would get, though, as the Bearcats cruised down the stretch to a 66-44 win.

With the win, Saint Vincent improves to 14-3 on the season, 9-1 in PAC play. Westminster drops to 4-12, 4-6 in the PAC, with the loss.

Notes: Brittany Sedlock led all scorers with 17 points… Courtney Zitt led Westminster with 11 points and Jenna Grady added 10… McGrath grabbed a game-high 11 boards to go along with six points… Fenton, 16, and Mansur, 11, joined Sedlock in double figures… Westminster outscored Saint Vincent 31-26 in the second half.
