Bearcats earn first conference win, down Thiel 3-1

BOX SCORE

The Saint Vincent men's soccer team earned its first conference win of the season, defeating Thiel College on the road by a score of 3-1.

The Tomcats took the lead early in the first half, as Tyler Strite's corner kick was placed in the net by Jeff Swanson at the 6:53 mark, making it 1-0.  Neither team would manage to score for the remainder of the first half.

Just over two minutes into the second half, Brody Ruffner set up Josue Cuadra for the game-tying goal, and less than two minutes later, a kick by SVC's keeper Clemente Mejia was relayed by Luke D'Amico to Ruffner for what proved to be the game-winner.

Cuadra added an unassisted goal in the 77th minute for insurance.

Saint Vincent is now 1-6 on the season in conference play, 6-10-1 overall.
