The Saint Vincent men's soccer team earned its first conference win of the season, defeating Thiel College on the road by a score of 3-1.
The Tomcats took the lead early in the first half, as Tyler Strite's corner kick was placed in the net by Jeff Swanson at the 6:53 mark, making it 1-0. Neither team would manage to score for the remainder of the first half.
Just over two minutes into the second half,
Brody Ruffner set up
Josue Cuadra for the game-tying goal, and less than two minutes later, a kick by SVC's keeper
Clemente Mejia was relayed by
Luke D'Amico to Ruffner for what proved to be the game-winner.
Cuadra added an unassisted goal in the 77th minute for insurance.
Saint Vincent is now 1-6 on the season in conference play, 6-10-1 overall.
