PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Nov. 28) - The Bearcats used a 27-1 run that lasted just under 10 minutes in the first half and never looked back as they opened Presidents' Athletic Conference play with a 71-46 win at Chatham.
With the win, the Saint Vincent women's basketball team begins league play 1-0 and improves to 3-2 on the season. Chatham falls to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the PAC.
During the 27-1 run, senior guard
Melissa Mansur scored 10 of the first 12 points, all off of steals, in just under two minutes of time to spark the run.
Mansur led the Bearcats with a game-high 16 points while also adding eight steals, five rebounds and four assists. Senior forward
Jordan Clinton posted her first career double-double with 12 points and 10 boards, while junior forward
Taylor Mathers added 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Bearcats will host Westminster on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. in the home-opener for the 2012-13 season in the Carey Center. It is the only home game for SVC in the first 12 games to begin the year.
