Coe College defeated Saint Vincent by a score of 57-42 in the Bearcats' final game at the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas.

Saint Vincent never lead in the contest as Coe grabbed their first and only lead before the tip as Saint Vincent was charged with a team technical foul for a mixup with the starting lineup.  The first made foul shot started an opening 6-0 run for the Kohawks and that was as close as the Bearcats would come for the rest of the game.

The Bearcats broke the opening run when Jordan Clinton went to the line and made one of two foul shots.  Clinton scored the Bearcats first five points of the game and was seemingly the only offense the team could generate.

Another 6-0 run for the Kohawks gave them an 11 point lead with 14:30 left to play in the first half.

After another bucket by Clinton and back-to-back scores by Taylor Mathers, the Bearcats cut the lead to eight (17-9) with 12:33 left in the game, but the Kohawks went on another run outscoring the Bearcats 7-0 during a two minute span.

The teams exchanged baskets for the remainder of the first half and the Kohawks took a 35-21 lead into the half.  Ariel Rocco, Elle Collins, Devin McGrath, Melissa Mansur, and Ally Schmidt scored the last five baskets for the Bearcats in the first half.

The Kohawks struck first in the second half as they scored on one free throw and an offensive rebound putback and gained a 17 point lead.

Devin McGrath turned it on for her team in the second half as she scored a team-high 14 points and was only one point behind the game high scorer, Kayla Waskow (15).  McGrath scored the first Bearcat points of the second half and scored 12 of the team's 21 second half points.

The Bearcats and Kohawks exchanged scores until the 6:47 mark in the second half when the Bearcats rattled off a 7-0 run of their own to cut their deficit to 11; however, their efforts fell short as the Bearcats lost by a final score of 57-42.

Saint Vincent falls to (7-4) overall and the Kohawks improve to (7-4).  Saint Vincent will return to action Wednesday, January 2nd on the road against conference foe, Thiel College.
