The Bearcat men's basketball team earned a victory on the road over Washington & Jefferson College in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.  The final score was 73-63.

Chris Klimchock led the offense with 16 points, while Isaac Turner added 14.  Sean Kett played a key role as well, scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 9 rebounds.  Grant Latus had 10 points and 7 boards in just 19 minutes of play.

The hosts were strong early, building a 19-14 lead at the 8:24 mark of the first half.  However, Klimchock hit three-pointers on consecutive trips down the court to give SVC a 20-19 advantage, and after W&J retook the lead on the next possession, Klimchock hit a long jumper to make it 22-21, and the Bearcats never trailed again.

With 13 points in the first half, Klimchock helped SVC build a 36-27 advantage at the break, but the Presidents gradually chipped away at the lead, mostly at the free throw line.

The Bearcats got into foul trouble early in the second half, and W&J took advantage of its opportunities.  After Ed Wright scored on a fast break with 10:38 left, SVC took a 51-43 lead.  However, the hosts then scored six straight points at the charity stripe to cut the gap to just two, Mitch Locher scored for the Presidents to tie the game at 51-51 with 8:12 remaining.

Armani Fountain then drew a foul and hit a pair of shots to give the lead back to the Bearcats, and after W&J once again tied the game, Kett scored to put SVC in front, 55-53.

Up 58-57 with less than four minutes to go, JC Howard hit a clutch three, his first points of the night, to make it a four-point game, 61-57.  Turner then got the hot hand, scoring the Bearcats' next five points, and nine points overall in the final three minutes to seal the win.  Kett added four free throws in the closing 90 seconds as well, lifting the Bearcats to a 2-0 record in the conference.

Next up for the Bearcats (6-2 overall) will be a trip to Grove City on Saturday for a PAC matchup against the Wolverines.  Tipoff is 3PM.
