CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (Feb. 25) – The Saint Vincent women's basketball team fell to Thomas More, 77-66, in the Championship Game of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament.

With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 22-6 on the season and will await this weekend to hear whether they will earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament, and if not, they will look to receive a bid to the ECAC South Tournament. The Saints earn their sixth-straight PAC Championship and with it secure the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

With SVC trailing 11-8 five and a half minutes into the game, PAC Player of the Year Brittany Sedlock and First-Team All-PAC forward Devin McGrath hit back-to-back layups to give SVC the lead, 12-11, at the 12:42-mark. A three-pointer by freshman guard Elle Collins and a triple by senior guard Emily Fenton put the Bearcats ahead, 20-18, with 9:10 to play in the first half.

A jumper by freshman guard Jessica Welch to 5:45 to play in the first half gave the Bearcats a three-point lead, 30-27, before the Saints closed out the half on a 15-5 run to take a 42-35 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Bearcats got the game as close as five points, 54-49, at the 11:45-mark on a pair of free throws by Fenton, before Thomas More went on a 12-0 run that lasted three minutes to build the lead to 17 points, 66-49 with 8:40 remaining.  SVC would not cut the deficit to under 10 points the rest of the way as Thomas More won, 77-66.

Fenton, McGrath and Sedlock each scored 16 points to pace the Saint Vincent offense. Sedlock pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds while McGrath added 13 boards.

Devin Beasley led all scorers with a game-best 30 points on 9-of-25 from the field and 11-of-18 at the free-throw line. She also added 12 rebounds and seven assists to pace the Saints.

For the game, SVC shot just 33.8 percent (23-of-68) from the field and only 20.0 percent (6-of-30) from beyond-the-arc. The Saints connected on 42.6 percent (26-of-61) from the floor for the game.
