The Saint Vincent men's tennis team improved to 4-2 on the season with another 9-0 shutout win against nonconference foe D'Youville (NY).
It might have been the Bearcats most dominating win of the year as they did not lose more than 4 games in any set or doubles game.
At third doubles
Chris Andrejcik and
Nick Latterner pitched a shutout of their own, winning 8-0.
Anthony Nemanic and
Dan Chirdon won 8-2 at first doubles while
Sean Malone and
Tony Costantino won 8-1 at second doubles.
At fifth singles
Chris Andrejcik continued his dominating play by emerging victorious in straight sets without losing a game. His double partner,
Nick Latterner, likewise breezed to a 6-2, 6-2 win at sixth singles.
At fourth singles
Dan Chirdon used a chip and charge strategy to notch a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
Tony Costantino played the match of the day against a tough opponent at first singles. He used his consistency to frustrate his opponent and win 6-1, 6-4.
Saint Vincent plays again Monday against Penn State Altoona at the Greensburg Racquet Club. Match time is 12:30. The Bearcats are looking for their first ever victory against this strong nonconference opponent.
