BOX SCORE
The Bearcat men's tennis team ran its win streak to nine with a shutout victory over Pitt-Greensburg at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
It was the fifth straight of those nine victories that came by the score of 9-0. Saint Vincent's record on the year is now 10-2 with both losses coming against NAIA foes in Florida.
Despite the absence of
Sean Malone the Bearcats had no trouble dispatching the Bobcats in singles.
They did not lose a single set and won six sets by 6-0 scores.
Nick Latterner, playing sixth singles, got the lone 6-0, 6-0 win of the day. At second singles
Anthony Nemanic had the next best performance, losing only one game.
The doubles teams also took care of business.
Dan Chirdon and
Anthony Nemanic continued their stellar play at first doubles while cruising to an 8-2 win.
Chris Andrejcik and
Nathan Walch moved up to second doubles and won 8-4.
Tony Costantino played with Nick Lattener at third doubles and they clinched a dominating 8-1 victory.
The Bearcats return to action tomorrow at Franciscan University in a tough out-of-conference test. Saint Vincent lost to Franciscan at the Greensburg Racquet Club last year. The match begins at 4pm.
