Denison University, ranked #8 in the nation in men's lacrosse, defeated Saint Vincent by a score of 19-5 in Granville, Ohio.
The hosts opened a 5-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, and the score was 6-0 before
Nick Pensyl got the Bearcats on the board just over four minutes into the second quarter.
SVC trailed 9-2 at the half.
Pensyl led the Bearcat offense with two goals on the day. Also recording goals were
Mike Diggs,
Shane Rudolf and
Anthony Altieri.
Will DeLanoy had the lone SVC assist.
Eddie Vita led the Denison offense with four goals.
Denison recorded 47 shots for the day, compared to 24 for SVC. Denison also led the way in ground balls with 51, compared to SVC's 28. Saint Vincent won 16 of 28 faceoffs, led by
Sean Kretovics, who was 8-for-12.
Adam Gunter posted ten saves in the net for the Bearcats but suffered the loss.
SVC returns to action on Wednesday at Oberlin College. Game time is 4:30PM.
