Sixteen different players scored as the Saint Vincent Bearcats cruised to an 82-63 victory on the road over the Lions of Penn State-Altoona.
Ally Schmidt led all scorers with 14 points.
The game was close in the early going, but SVC drew clear to a 38-31 lead at the half.
The Lions cut the margin to just four- 40-36, early in the second half, but scores by
Jasmine Weems, Schmidt and
Ashlee Darby quickly ran the lead to eleven, 47-36, at the 16:30 mark.
Later, back to back threes by Penn State's Devin Stessney once again made it a four-point game (54-50) with just over 11 minutes to play, but
Abby Stahl then scored four straight points for Saint Vincent to extend the lead to eight.
A three by
Elle Collins made it an 11-point game with 9:43 to go, and the Bearcats never looked back.
Weems and
Hannah Carroll each added 9 points for Saint Vincent (1-1) while
Taylor Mathers and Collins each scored 8.
With the loss, Altoona is now 0-3 on the season.
The Bearcats return to action on Saturday night, hosting La Roche in the Carey Center at 6PM.
