Behind 20 points from Elle Collins, Saint Vincent defeated Washington & Jefferson College by a score of 75-55 in the Carey Center in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

The visitors opened the game with three straight points, but SVC stormed back to take a 10-4 lead, thanks in part to five points from Taylor Mathers.

Later, up 13-10, Mathers hit a pair of free throws to start a 9-point Saint Vincent run, which was capped by a three from Jillian Kegg with 10:42 left in the first half.

The lead continued to grow, jumping to 21 at the 4:26 mark after a three by Hannah Carroll.  A pair of free throws by Elle Collins ended the scoring for the half, and SVC took a 22-point lead (45-23) into the break.

However, the Presidents came out of the locker room eager to cut into the margin, and started the second half with a 21-4 run.  Alexa DelGreco's three at the 11:12 mark ended the streak, making the score 49-44.

After both teams stayed off the board for the next two minutes, Collins hit a pair of free throws to extend the lead to seven (51-44), and was a sign of things to come for the Bearcat guard.

Jasmine Weems followed with a three to give the hosts the momentum as well as a double-digit lead.

However, the visitors once again trimmed the lead to five (58-53) after a Valerie Dunlap score with 4:08 left.

Collins then took over the game, scoring 11 points in a span of just 1:46, leading the team to their third straight PAC victory.

Mathers added 12 points for Saint Vincent (5-2, 3-0 PAC), while Carroll scored 9 and Kegg 8.  Jessica Welch tallied six steals to lead the defense.

Saint Vincent will return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Meadville for a 2PM matchup against Allegheny College.
