Bearcats remain undefeated in conference play

BOX SCORE

The Saint Vincent College men's tennis team clinched the PAC regular season championship for the first time in school history with a 9-0 victory over the Washington & Jefferson Presidents.  The Bearcats finished the regular season 7-0 in conference, shutting out five of their opponents.

All three doubles teams were dominant in the opening of the match, as none of them lost more than one game.   Both the first doubles team of Anthony Nemanic/Dave Cenkner and the second doubles team of Chris Andrejcik/Tony Costantino finished the season undefeated in the conference.

Other than close matches at the fourth and sixth positions, singles play also consisted of blowouts for Saint Vincent.  Cenkner (1st singles), Costantino (2nd singles), and Nemanic (3rd singles) all came through conference play with a perfect record.  Combined with their spotless doubles play those three ended PAC play at 14-0.

At sixth singles, Sean Malone struggled but still won 6-2, 6-3.  Nathan Walch played a very tight match against Christopher Fadil; however, Walch was stronger at the end of both sets and won 6-4, 7-5.

The Bearcats have one non-conference match remaining against Mount Aloysius before the PAC Championships begin on April 19.  The contest with Mount Aloysius starts at 12 30PM on Tuesday at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
