In their final tune-up before the PAC Championships this weekend, the Saint Vincent College men's tennis team blanked Mount Aloysius, 9-0. The Bearcats finished undefeated at home for the second consecutive season.
Saint Vincent lost only 3 games the entire match.
Anthony Nemanic, playing in the final home match of his career, was one of four players who won their singles match 6-0, 6-0.
He was joined by Pat Hiles,
Chris Andrejcik, and
Sean Malone in accomplishing this feat.
Although he did lose one game,
Nathan Walch captured the elusive “golden set”. He did not lose a point the entire first set. It is believed to be the first “golden set” for Saint Vincent since Ibrahim Moizoos blanked his opponent in 1985 in the East-West Tournament.
All three doubles team shut out their counterparts 8-0.
The PAC tournament starts at 8:30 AM on Friday at the Pennbriar Racquet Club in Erie.
