The Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team lost to Washington & Jefferson College on the road by a final score of 15-11.
W&J took a 9-6 lead into halftime and out-scored SVC, 6-5, in the second half to post the win.
SVC drops to 10-4, while W&J moves to 4-9.
The hosts out-shot SVC, 27-24, and controlled 19 of 27 draws in the game.
Alyssa Lang and
Hannah Hackman each led SVC with five points (four goals, one assist), while
Nora Posival added a pair of points.
Michelle Mitchell suffered the loss while making eight saves in 60 minutes.
The Presidents held a 6-1 lead 13 minutes into the game and the Bearcats out-scored them, 10-9, the remaining 47 minutes.
The two teams meet again on Friday, April 26 at 5 p.m. at Thiel in the first-ever Presidents' Athletic Conference women's lacrosse championship.
