Tennis team wins again, 9-0

BOX SCORE

For the second consecutive day the Saint Vincent College men's tennis team went on the road and emerged with a victory.  This time the Bearcats left no doubt about the outcome, beating the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets 9-0.

The third doubles team of Nathan Walch and Sean Malone won 8-1 to get Saint Vincent off to a good start.  At first doubles, Anthony Nemanic and David Cenkner overcame a slow start to grab an 8-4 victory.  Tony Costantino and Chris Andrejcik had a tough fight at second doubles, but after losing a 7-4 lead the duo eventually came out on top 9-7.

Although two of the doubles matches were tight, none of the singles contests were ever in doubt.  Both Costantino and Malone won 6-0, 6-0. Nemanic was nearly as dominant as he breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles.  Cenkner, playing the first position, captured both sets by an identical 6-1 score.  At fourth singles, Walch won 6-0, 6-2.  Finally, Andrejcik, playing the fifth position, overcame some hiccups in the second set before finally emerging with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph.

At exhibition singles, Pat Hiles cruised 8-4, making the final margin of victory 10-0.

Weather permitting, the Bearcats next match is on the road against W&J on Friday at 3PM.
