LATROBE (April 9) - A total of 12 different Bearcats found the back of the net as the Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team exploded for 16 goals in the first half en route to a 22-3 win over Wilson at Chuck Noll Field.
SVC's fourth-straight win boosts its record to 6-2 on the season and 3-2 at home. The loss drops Wilson to 0-4 this year.
The hosts held a 16-1 lead at halftime before recording six goals in the second half to post the 22-3 final.
Molly Snyder led all players with five points and four goals, while
Kaley Burkardt recorded a hat trick and four points.
Nora Posival came off the bench to add four points including a goal.
Hannah Hackman,
Helena Shoplik and
Mary Wilcox each added three points, including a pair of goals apiece.
Also in the game
Bridget Synan recorded her first career goal.
Kelsey McMillen earned the win in goal in her first career start. She made three saves in playing all 60 minutes.
SVC held a 36-9 advantage on shots, including 26 attempts in the first half. The Bearcats picked up 34 ground balls compared to 18 in the win and won 18 of 27 draw controls.
The Bearcats return to action on Thursday, April 11, hosting Franciscan at 5 p.m.
