LATROBE (Sept. 16) – Saint Vincent men's soccer head coach
Keith Harmon, in conjunction with Pitt-Greensburg head coach Ted Wawrzyniak, has announced that Wednesday's soccer game between the two school's will be the for the Westmoreland Cup trophy.

The game is scheduled to be played at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Ridilla Field on the campus of UPG.

"This will be something great for the two teams to play for locally," said Harmon. "It should be exciting for the players, coaches and fans. The proximity of the two schools leads itself to a natural rivalry."

Both teams are off to slow starts in 2013, with SVC entering at 1-6 and UPG standing at 0-6. Saint Vincent is led in scoring by freshman
Kevin Proctor who has 10 points, including four goals, thus far this season. Junior
Brody Ruffner has recorded seven points with three goals and freshman
Scott Luthy has three goals and six points.

Luke D'Amico and
Aaron Wilkinson anchor a Bearcat defense that has faced an average of nearly 19 shots per game in front of junior goalkeeper
Eric Houghton (39 saves, .661 save percentage).

Junior Jeremy Niemiec has recorded two of the three goals this season for the Bobcats, scoring in the season-opening overtime loss to Buffalo State (N.Y.) and on Saturday against Bethany. Â Sophomore Brandon Galley has started each game in goal for UPG, making 44 saves and a .688 save percentage.

Following the UPG game, Saint Vincent will return home for two games (Sept. 25 against Penn State Behrend and Oct. 3 against Penn State Altoona) before opening Presidents' Athletic Conference play on the road at Washington & Jefferson at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
