Saint Vincent defeated the Geneva Golden Tornadoes, 74-55, to improve on their Presidents' Athletic Conference record to a perfect 7-0.

The Bearcats got the early advantage, going up 7-4 after an Ally Schmidt three-pointer with 16:54 to play.

SVC and Geneva would trade baskets for several minutes with the visitors still in the lead, 20-17, thanks in part to Drew Meeker's triple and layup. Then the Bearcats would go on a quick 9-0 run, led by Taylor Mathers' four points.

Again, the two teams would trade baskets in the final three minutes, while Saint Vincent would go into the locker room with the 31-21 lead. Mathers led all scorers at the half with 10 points.

Led by Jillian Kegg's hot hand, the Bearcats put up 14 points in the first six minutes of the second half. After making four consecutive free throws, Kegg hit two treys within 20 seconds of each other to put SVC up 47-28.

Geneva would go on a short 8-3 run to draw back within 12 at 50-38. However, the SVC would have no more of it, going on a strong 8-0 run starting with a Kayla Stockenus steal and layup, only to be followed by Hannah Carroll's rebound and basket after yet another steal; putting the visitors on top 58-38 for their largest lead of the game.

In the final six minutes, the hosts would draw back within 13 after back-to-back three's (65-52). However, SVC would hold out with a 9-3 run.

For Saint Vincent, Mathers tallied 17 points to go along with five rebounds. Also in double-figures for the Bearcats was Kegg with 14, and Elle Collins and Meeker with 10 apiece. As a team, they shot 49 percent from the field.

Next for SVC, they host #6/7 ranked Thomas More in PAC action with tip set for 2 PM.
