Thomas More used three unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter to pull away, then went on to defeat Saint Vincent by a score of 49-7.

After consecutive defensive stops for both teams through almost the entire first quarter, the Saints got on the board when Jensen Gebhardt found Tyler Vogelpohl from 15 yards out with :03 left in the quarter.

In the second quarter, after a defensive stand by SVC,
Darius Brown received a Thomas More punt and cut the corner for an 82-yard return to tie the game at 7-7 with just over 11 minutes to play in the first half.

At the 7:34 mark of the second quarter, a personal foul penalty on the Bearcats gave the Saints good starting field position. CT Tarrant would later shoot a gap and score from 29 yards out and increase the hosts lead to 14-7.

In the final four minutes, Thomas More would score twice to set the score at 28-7 at halftime. Tarrant tallied his second touchdown of the day, this one from five yards out, followed by a 42-yard pass from Gebhardt to Goose Cohorn.

To start the second half, the Saints went 75 yards on 10 plays, capped off with another passing score from Gebhardt to Cohorn.Â

With 12 minutes left in the third, Saint Vincent started at their own 34 yard line, and got long passing plays to Bronson Pryzbilinski and
Shavonta Craft of 15 and 29 yards, respectively, but the stout Thomas More defense held.

The hosts added another score with 13:57 left in the game on a 5-yard run from Myron Fears to extend the lead to 42-7. Then at the 5:58 mark of the fourth quarter, Deris Tilford scored from 7 yards out, making it 49-7.

For the Bearcats,
Andy Borgen finished 10-17 for 87 yards through the air. Â Craft rushed for 48 yards on 11 carries.
Dustin Lowman lead all receivers with 6 receptions for 49 yards while Craft also had 2 catches for 28 yards.

On defense,
Matt Jenkins led the way with 12 total tackles while
Joey Milhomme,
Matt McCarthy and
Austin Slagle all tallied eight stops.
Tom Mackowick also recovered a fumble.

With the loss, the Saint Vincent fall to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Next week they return home to host the Carnegie Mellon Tartans with kickoff set for 1PM.
