The Saint Vincent Bearcats used a 15-0 run near the start of the game to spark an 81-48 victory over Geneva College in the Carey Center.

Geneva took an early 4-2 lead, two minutes into play, but a fast break layup by Elle Collins started the SVC run at the 17:30 mark.  Collins then followed with a three--pointer, a baseline jumper and another three, before tallying an assist on a score by Taylor Mathers.  On the next possession, Collins hit another three, making it a 17-4 game at the 12:15 mark.  From there, the outcome was never in doubt.

Back-to-back threes by Hannah Carroll and Drew Meeker made the score 26-7 near the midway point of the half, and the lead exceeded 20 when Brianna Zajac scored to make it 31-10.

A Jasmine Weems three with 2:50 left in the half made the score 40-15, and the lead was 44-19 at the halftime break.

In the second half, Susie Ellis scored 8 straight points, helping the team roll to a 33-point victory.

Collins led all Bearcat scorers with 16 points in just 21 minutes, shooting 4-for-5 from outside the arc.  Mathers added 13 points in 14 minutes to go along with 8 rebounds and three blocks.  Jessica Welch led the team with 10 rebounds on the night.

Carroll and Ellis each had 8 points, while Mara Benvenuti had five assists.  Kayla Stockenus and Maggie Kimmich each posted three steals.

Saint Vincent is now 16-6 overall, 13-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.  Geneva drops to 3-18, 2-13 in PAC play.

The Bearcats return to action on Saturday afternoon, hosting Bethany College at 4PM.
