With the win, the Bearcats improve to 8-2 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 2-6. The two teams may square off for a third time later this month in the second-annual Presidents' Athletic Conference women's lacrosse championship.

From that point, SVC out-scored the Jackets, 9-1, with two goals each by Kaley Burkardt, Maggie Garvey and Jess Heuler to take a 16-10 lead at halftime.

Mary Wilcox opened the second half with a goal at 29:01 and Natalie Ambrozic scored at 21:54 to push the margin to 18-10. A pair of Waynesburg scores sandwiched an SVC goal, but Sarah Wallerstedt, Emma Weaver and Kiana Wilson each scored goals within a four-minute span to put SVC up by 10, 22-12 with 12:28 to play.

The Jackets found the back of the goal at 9:39 to close their scoring and SVC used five goals in the final 6:04 to post the 27-13 win.

For the game, SVC out-shot Waynesburg 55-22, including 25-5 in the second half. The Bearcats also nearly doubled up the Jackets with 54 ground balls to 28.

Snyder led Saint Vincent with seven points with five assists. Burkardt (three goals) and Garvey (two goals) each had five points, while Ambrozic scored four goals. Wallerstedt scored a hat trick in the win.

Michelle Mitchell earned her eighth win of the season, making seven saves including six in the first half.
