LATROBE (April 25) - Senior Kaley Burkardt set the single-game Saint Vincent record with 10 goals as the Bearcats built a sizeable lead and coasted to an 18-14 win over Washington & Jefferson in the semifinals of the 2014 Presidents' Athletic Conference tournament.

With the win, the top-seeded Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team improves to 10-3 on the season and moves to Saturday's championship game against the winner of the second semifinal game between second-seeded Thiel and third-seeded Waynesburg. The contest is slated for a 2 p.m. start at Chuck Noll Field. W&J, the tournament's fourth seed, finishes the season 0-10.

After SVC was up 10-2, Burkardt scored four-straight goals in a span of under five minutes to stretch the lead to 14-2 with 5:33 left in the first half and break the record previously held by Alyssa Lang, who scored nine goals against Waynesburg on April 20, 2013. The Presidents scored the final two goals of the first half as SVC led 14-4 through 30 minutes.

The Bearcats coasted through the second half, allowing W&J to out-score them 10-4, posting the eventual final of 18-14.

For the game, SVC held a 41-15 advantage on shots, including 26-4 in the first half. Saint Vincent also controlled 22-of-34 draws.
