BOX SCOREThe Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team opened an early 10-goal lead and cruised to a 22-8 victory over Muskingum University on the road in Ohio.
Sarah Wallerstedt scored one minute into play to put SVC in front, and
Maggie Nelson added two goals within the next minute to make the score 3-0.
Up 4-2 just over five minutes into the game, SVC then tallied 8 straight goals over the next 19 minutes, including three each by
Hannah Carroll and Nelson, running the lead to 12-2.

Alyssa McCuistion and
Natalie Ambrozic in the final 90 seconds of the half made the score 14-3 at the break.
SVC outshot Muskingum by a 23-11 margin in the first half, then slowed the tempo in the second half. Seven different players scored goals in the second half, with
Helena Shoplik scoring twice.
On the afternoon, Nelson led the way with six goals and a pair of assists. Carroll, Wallerstedt and Shoplik each added three goals. Ambrozic and
Katie Stallings each scored twice.
Michelle Mitchell worked the first 39 minutes and picked up the win in the net, posting five saves.
Alex Piampiano was in goal for the final 21 minutes.
Saint Vincent is now 3-5 overall on the season, and will be back in action on Sunday (March 22), traveling to Lexington, KY to face Transylvania University in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference matchup.
