Shelby Noel singled in
Sarah Swettlen and then freshman
Emily Duerr brought home sophomore

Rose-Hulman responded with six runs in the top of the seventh. A couple bloop hits and defensive mistakes led to the big inning, which eventually was capped with a three-run homer to help put things out of reach.

Christina Folino laced a solo home run over the left field fence in the bottom of the frame but SVC dropped the game 6-3. Sophomore
Cassidy Uscilowski took a tough loss in game one. After throwing six shutout innings, Uscilowski was charged with six runs, five of which were earned in the seventh inning. Breanne Wallace,
Courtney Patterson,
Ally Panzella, Swettlen, Duerr and Noel all had two hits each. Noel added two RBI while Wallace had a clutch solo home run in the sixth inning to tie the game at 7-7.
