BOX SCOREFROSTBURG, Md. (March 25) - The Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team fell behind early and dropped a 22-5 decision on the road to Frostburg State in Maryland.
The host Bobcats scored the first 12 goals of the match. Sophomore
Sarah Wallerstedt scored the Bearcats first goal for the Bearcats, with 6:06 to play in the half.
Frostburg scored the next two goals and took a 14-1 lead at halftime. Freshman
Maggie Nelson tallied the Bearcats next goal, off an assist from senior
Molly Snyder at the 26:09 to play, making it 15-2.
FSU tallied the next five goals to take a 20-2 with 10:59 to play. SVC closed the game by scoring three of the last five goals. Nelson and Snyder tallied the next two goals for the Bearcats.
Jess Heuler scored the final goal of the match for SVC, off a pass from Snyder.
Senior goalkeeper
Michelle Mitchell stopped eight shots over 60 minutes of action in net.
Frostburg State outshot SVC 40-12 in the match and collected 26 ground balls compared to the Bearcats 13.
SVC returns to action when they host Hanover College for Senior Day on Saturday, March 28. Start time is slated for 2 p.m.
