Greg Martin struck out six in three scoreless innings of relief, as the Bearcats defeated Franklin College 7-5 in Auburndale, FL.

Saint Vincent got off to a quick start, scoring a pair of runs in the top of the first. Dylan Kugler reached on an error with one out, then moved to second on an infield single by Ben Webb.  Eddie Kilkeary then hit a deep ball to right that scored both runners, but Kilkeary was thrown out trying to stretch the hit to a double.

In the top of the second, Chris Winkler and Aaron Burger singled, then moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Joe Simsic.  Winkler then scored on a wild pitch to make the score 3-0.

The Grizzlies stormed back in the third inning, scoring four runs to take a 4-3 lead, but the advantage was short-lived.  Greg Martin doubled to lead off the fourth for Saint Vincent and scored on an Burger single.  Burger later scored on a TJ Kuny single to put the Bearcats back in front 5-4.

A triple and sacrifice fly off SVC starter Tyler Frankel once again tied the game in the bottom of the 5th, but the offense went back to work for the Bearcats.  Kuny walked to lead off the 6th, then Luke Fox hit a bunt single along the first base line to put two runners on.  Kuny moved up to third on a fly out by Kugler, then scored on a failed pickoff attempt.  Fox later scored on a wild pitch, putting SVC in front 7-5.

Martin, who had started the game at first base, then moved to the mound, throwing three strong innings of relief for the save.  Frankel, who struck out eight in six innings of work, picked up the victory.

Kilkeary led the offense by going 3-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in, while Webb, Winkler, Burger and Kuny had two hits each.
