The Saint Vincent men's tennis team kicked off the 2017 season with a non-conference matchup against cross-town rival Pitt-Greensburg. The Bearcats earned a 6-3 victory from the Bobcats after a tightly contested match.

The Bearcats jumped out to an early 2-1 lead, as the third doubles pairing of
Tyler Brinton and
Zach Fox claimed an 8-1 victory. The first doubles pairing of
Jonathan Prichard and
Ryan Hartz fought back from an early deficit to win 8-6.

Fox captured the fifth singles point of the match for Saint Vincent in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.
Scott Reichard won the fourth point of the match for the Bearcats with a straight sets 6-1, 6-1 victory at fourth singles. Brinton sealed the match with a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win at sixth singles. Freshman Jon Oskin picked up his first collegiate win at second single by a score of 6-4, 6-1.

The win puts the Bearcats' record at 1-0 on the season. Saint Vincent will be back in action Sunday, February 26, for another home non-conference match against Penn State-Altoona.
