The Saint Vincent men's tennis team returned to its winning ways as they earned a 7-2 non-conference victory against Pitt-Greensburg. The win gives the Bearcats a sweep of the season series against their crosstown rivals.
Â
In doubles play, Saint Vincent captured all three points. The first doubles pairing of Johnathan Prichard and
Ryan Hartz won their matchup in the first position by a score of 8-5 while second and third doubles claimed a pair 8-3 victories.
Â
Prichard and Hartz clinched the match for Saint Vincent with two straight set victories and first and fifth singles, 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-1 respectively. The Bearcats also claimed the third and sixth singles points.
While both teams use the Greensburg Racquet Club as their home venue, the match was termed a home event for UPG. Â The teams' earlier meeting was a home match for SVC.
Â
The victory has Saint Vincent sitting at 3-2 as the team enters conference play. The Bearcats will be back in action March 23, as they take on the Thiel Tomcats at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
