The Saint Vincent men's tennis team narrowly defeated rival Washington & Jefferson 5-4 in tightly contested Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup.
The Bearcats opened up doubles play by capturing points at the first and second positions. Saint Vincent's doubles play was led by the first pairing of
Jonathan Prichard and
Ryan Hartz, who took down the Presidents top pairing by a score of 8-4.
The teams split the singles points 3-3. Freshman
Jon Oskin took the second singles point 6-4, 6-3 and
Tyler Brinton claimed the sixth singles point decisively, 6-0, 6-3. Prichard sealed the win for Saint Vincent with a straight sets 7-6, 6-1 victory at first singles.
Saint Vincent improves its record to 5-2 (2-0) on the year and extends their win streak to three. The Bearcats will be back in March 31, as they return to the Greensburg Racquet Club for a PAC matchup against the Thomas More Saints. Start time is set for 8 p.m.
