The Bearcats wrapped up their series with the Geneva Golden Tornadoes with an 11-6 victory at Bearcat Ballfield for the team's third consecutive conference win.
Fred Gillespie (2-1) earned the win, while
Ramon Milke and
TJ Kuny each hit home runs for the Bearcats.
The Bearcats took advantage of walks in the second inning, as the Geneva starter walked three straight hitters before
Tanner Yard singled home the game's first run. Â
Chris Winkler then drew a bases-loaded walk that made the score 2-0. Â A sacrifice fly by Kuny increased the lead to 3-0 before
Greg Martin doubled home a pair of runs, giving the Bearcats a 5-0 lead after two innings.
Milke's first collegiate home run came with one out in the third, a solo shot, that extended the lead to 6-0.  Later in the inning,
Brennan Hoffer doubled, followed by a single from Yard. Â After Winkler walked, a wild pitch brought home Hoffer, and Kuny singled home Yard to run the lead to 8-0.
The visitors scored an unearned run off Gillespie in the 5th to make it 8-1, but the Bearcats took advantage of three Geneva errors in the bottom of the inning to get the run back.
In the top of the 7th, Gillespie was chased after giving up three doubles, and a fourth double came later in the inning off
Luke Spisak. Â Reliever
Dylan Pietrantoni came on to get the final out of the inning and preserve a 9-5 lead. Â
Kuny then ended all thoughts of a Geneva comeback with a 2-run blast to center field that made the score 11-5. Â Geneva added an unearned run in the top of the 9th.
Yard, Kuny and Milke each recorded two hits on the day, with Kuny driving in four runs.  Winkler was on base five times, with a single and four walks - just one shy of the all-time single-game school record.
Gillespie worked 6 1/3, walked three and struck out one. Pietrantoni worked the final 2 1/3, striking out two.
Saint Vincent is now 4-2 in the conference, while Geneva falls to 0-8. Â The Bearcats will travel to Altoona on Thursday for a non-conference twinbill against Penn State-Altoona, starting at 1PM.
