WASHINGTON, Pa. (April 30) - The Saint Vincent baseball team fell 17-0 to #19 Washington & Jefferson at Ross Memorial Park in Washington County.
The host Presidents scored two in the second and added three more in the third for a 5-0 lead. W&J then added three more in the fourth, six runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh to wrap up the scoring.
Jarrett Noel started and suffered the loss for Saint Vincent. Noel drops to 1-1 on the season. Bryce Schnatterly improved to 6-0 on the mound for W&J.
Mike Hildebrand and
Bobby Finn recorded a double each for the Bearcats, who collected five hits in the game.
Ramon Milke and
Dylan Pietrantoni each pitched a scoreless inning out of the Bearcat bullpen. Pietrantoni continued his strong pitching as of late, tossing a scoreless eighth, striking out three Presidents.
The victory gives W&J the series sweep of the Bearcats. Saint Vincent drops to 14-21 overall and 8-13 in PAC play. W&J improves to 26-7 overall and 19-2 overall. The win helped the Presidents lock up the top seed for the upcoming PAC Tournament.
