DANBURY, Conn. (Jan. 31) - For their efforts in last Saturday's meet against Westminster College, freshmen
Marion D'Aurora and
Zach Baum were named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Rookies of the Week.
D'Aurora earned three individual victories in Saturday's PAC win over Westminster. The freshman scored first place finishes in the 1000 Free (11:09.69), the 100 Butterfly (1:01.10) and the 200 Butterfly (2:16.00). D'Aurora teamed up with a trio of teammates to win the 200 Free Relay (1:42.22).
This is the second ECAC South Rookie of the Week honor for D'Aurora this winter, as she also earned the award back on Dec. 13.
Baum contributed three victories in Saturday's PAC meet with Westminster. The freshman earned first place finishes in the 200 Fly (2:01.07) while setting a new Resnik Pool record in the 100 Fly, with a time of 51.16. Baum also added a win as a member of the first place 200 Free Relay team, with a time of 1:27.80.
The Bearcats travel to Penn State Behrend for a non-conference meet on Saturday, Feb. 3. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Erie.
