The Saint Vincent men's tennis won its regular season finale against Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Waynesburg, 6-3.
The Bearcats struck first with two wins at second and third doubles.
Alex DeLuca and
Josh Boland rolled to an 8-1 victory at three followed by
Zach Fox and
Mauricio Sanchez claiming the number two doubles 8-3.
DeLuca opened up singles play with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the five spot. Boland followed up with a straight sets win of his own at six, 6-1, 6-0. Hartz clinched the match at fourth singles with a 6-0, 6-3 win. Also winning for SVC was Sanchez a second singles by a score of 6-1, 6-4.
The win sets a new single-season program record for victories, as it pushes the Bearcats' record to 11-3 (5-2 PAC).
SVC will return to action on Tuesday, April 23 for the quarterfinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference playoffs. The match will be played at the Greensburg Racquet Club starting at 1:00pm.
