The Saint Vincent baseball team faced the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Bearcats were victorious in both games, 4-3 and 20-1.
Game 1 – Saint Vincent 4, Geneva 3
Saint Vincent and Geneva remained scoreless through the first two innings.
In the top of the third, the Bearcats added one run when
TJ Dailey reached on an error by shortstop.

To open the bottom of the fifth inning, Geneva added two runs. The Bearcats had the 2-1 edge over the Golden Tornadoes.

SVC started the sixth inning off as Jake Saiani walked then advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Justin Wright hit a sacrifice bunt to advance Saiani to third. Zack Vonstein flied out to right field scoring Saiani.
Tim Beimel walked and advanced to second on an error by the catcher. Tanner Bash walked up at bat and
Jordan Sabol singled to left field, advancing Beimel home. The Bearcats added two runs, taking the 3-2 lead.

Geneva added one run in the bottom of the sixth, tying the contest at three apiece.

Dailey homered to left field, giving the Bearcats the 4-3 edge to claim victory in game one.
Sabol finished the game with two hits and six Saint Vincent players tallied one hit each. Four Bearcats drove in one run. SVC finished with eight total hits.
Jimmy Malone started on the mound going six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.

Game 2 – Saint Vincent 20, Geneva 1
Saint Vincent opened the scoring to start game two. The Bearcats led the Golden Tornadoes 6-0 at the bottom of the fourth.

SVC had a dominant fifth inning, adding five runs taking the 12-0 lead over Geneva.

The Golden Tornadoes added their only run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Bearcats added five runs in the sixth inning as
Joe Rudzinski singled to center field to start the inning. Saint Vincent led by 15 runs heading into the seventh inning.
SVC would go on to score four more runs by the top of the ninth, claiming the Saturday sweep against Geneva.
Dailey tallied a total of three hits while twelve Bearcats had at least one hit in the game.

Johnny Daggs, Sabol, Dailey and Rudzinski each added three runs for the Bearcats.
Brenden Lavely picked up the win going six innings, allowing one run on eight hits.
Saint Vincent (12-9, 11-6) completes the season series with Geneva in a doubleheader on Monday, April 19 at Bearcat Ballfield. First pitch is 2 p.m.
