WAYNESBURG, Pa (Oct. 13)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team traveled to Waynesburg, where the Bearcats defeated the Yellow Jackets 7-2.

In doubles the Bearcats went 2-1, winning in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions. In No. 2 doubles
Evan Ray and
Jack Citrone defeated the Waynesburg duo by a score of a 8-2.
Mauricio Sanchez and
Brennen Novotney won by a score of 8-0.
Brian Lee and
Sam Butler were defeated in No. 1 doubles by a slight margin of 8-4.

Saint Vincent won five of the six singles matches as well, only falling in the No. 1 singles spot. In No. 2 singles, Sanchez won by scores of 6-3, 6-0. Citrone won in the No. 3 spot by scores of 6-2, 6-4 and Ray defeated Justin North of Waynesburg in the No. 4 spot by scores of 6-0, 6-2. In the No. 5 position Butler won the first set 6-1, lost in the second set 6-7, and came back to win the tiebreak, picking up another point for SVC. Novotney won by scores of 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 6 spot in the win for Saint Vincent.

The win is the Bearcats second of the week, moving them to 2-0 during the fall season. Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, October 19 when they travel to Washington and Jefferson to take on the Presidents. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at W&J.
