ALTOONA, Pa. (Mar. 15)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team fell on the road to Penn State-Altoona by a score of 5-4 in a non-conference matchup.

The Bearcats started out strong winning two out of the three matches in doubles play.

In number two doubles the duo of
Brian Lee and
Evan Ray won by a score of 8-1 to tie the match up at 1-1 after the Bearcats fell in number one doubles. The Bearcats also won in number three doubles as the team of
Kyle Murray and
J.T. Gockel were tied 7-7 and won the tiebreaker to secure the 8-7 win for SVC as the Bearcats led 2-1 heading into singles play.

In singles play the Bearcats won two out of the six matches as Penn State-Altoona secured the slight 5-4 win. Ray picked up his second win of the night, this time in number four singles. Ray defeated his counterpart from the Lions by scores of 6-1, 6-3.

Murray also picked up his second win of the night, with his win coming in number five singles. Murray defeated his counterpart from Penn State-Altoona by scores of 7-6(6), 6-3 in route to the Bearcats fourth win of the night.

Saint Vincent now enters into PAC play in their next matchup as they play host to Westminster on Thursday, March 23. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the SVC Courts.
