ELWOOD, Pa. (Sept. 5) – Led by sophomore
Alex Leskovansky, the Saint Vincent College men's golf team opened the fall campaign with a second-place finish at the Geneva Fall Opener at Connoquenessing Country Club.
Leskovansky tied for individual medalist honors with a career-best even par 71 (35-36), as all four of the Bearcat scorers placed in the top-12 of the 29-team field. Saint Vincent turned in a team total of 302 to finish runner-up in the five-team field.
Following Leskovansky, senior
Brevin Urso tied for fourth with a two-over 73 (38-35), while teammates
Matthew Edwards (37-42) and
Brendan Cooley (40-39) tying for 10th with rounds of 79.
Grove City College placed first in the team standings with a team total of 296, while SVC was followed by Geneva's A-team (304), Geneva's B-team (351) and Bethany (359).
The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 14, when they'll make another trip north to take part in the Grove City Invitational at the Grove City Country Club.
