The Saint Vincent women's bowling team hosted the seventh annual Br. Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament at Lincoln Lanes in Latrobe, finishing in third among 10 teams.
Competing in the event named for the longtime SVC men's bowling coach, the Bearcats finished with an official NCAA record of 3-1 and won the third/fourth place match, and finished second in total pins for the afternoon.
The team opened the day with a matchup against Pitt-Greensburg, and the Bearcats opened a quick 50-pin lead after three frames, going on to win by a score of 866-715.Â

Brooke Street added a 203 and
Skyy Nicholls finished with a 190.
The fourth game pitted the Bearcats against Muskingum University, a strong US Bowling Congress Club team in a match that would count only for total pins in the tournament but as a "bye" for wins and losses.  SVC got off to a strong start, with strikes or spares on their first 18 shots of the game. Collectively, the team missed only three spares in the entire game, with splits accounting for all three open frames. Pilyih finished with a 214, followed by
Daphne Stuber (198), Strickland (194), Street (190) and Nicholls (179). Overall, SVC outscored the Muskies by a final of 975-929.
The final match of the day was a position round game against Alvernia, as SVC entered as the #3 seed with Alvernia at #4. The Bearcats had two splits in their first three shots of the game, but Alvernia likewise was troubled by splits throughout the game as Saint Vincent went on to win, 903-766. Strickland and Nicholls each finished with a 200, while Street added a 193.
Pilyih was named to the All-Tournament Team, finishing third among the field of 77 bowlers with an average of 198.0. Following her on the scoresheet were Street (186.1),
Cat Perekiszka (180.0), Strickland (179.2) an Nicholls (175.1). For the day, the Bearcats averaged 179.2, and their official 3-1 record lifted the Bearcats to a 16-8 record on the season.
William Smith College won the team title, defeating #2 seed Muskingum in the Championship game, 914-742. WSC averaged 183.8 on the afternoon. Â
Prior to the tournament, Saint Vincent honored its two seniors, Strickland and Perekiszka. Strickland has been a four-year member of the Bearcats, while Perekiszka is in her second year with the program.
SVC returns to action on Sunday in the Unicorn Classic, hosted by La Roche University, at Deer Lakes Bowl in Cheswick.
