YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (Dec. 6)- The Saint Vincent women's track and field team opened their season at the Youngstown State Icebreaker on Friday.
Gabrielle Dove opened her career with the Bearcats by running in the 60-meter sprint at the event. Dove's recorded a time of 8.44 seconds to finish 30th in the event.
Amanda Kane finished just behind Dove in the event, placing 35th with a time of 8.71 seconds. Also in the event,
Miranda Guthrie ran a tme of 8.92 seconds for the Bearcats.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Caroline Kozera recorded a 15th place finish for Saint Vincent. Kozera recorded a time of 9.80 seconds for the Bearcats in the event.
Kiersten Auman also ran a time of 11.33 seconds to finish 27th for Saint Vincent in the same event.
Dove and Kozera also ran in the 200-meter race for Saint Vincent. The pair finished 34th and 36th respectively with Dove racing a time of 27.72 seconds and Kozera with a time of 28.20 seconds.
Madelyn Hopsicker finished just behind Dove and Kozera with a time of 28.67 seconds for Saint Vincent.
Guthrie, Kane, and Auman all finished within eight spots of each other. Guthrie raced a time of 28.76 seconds, Kane recorded a time of 29.70 seconds, and Auman raced a time of 30.74 seconds for the Bearcats.
Hopsicker also raced in the 400-meter event for Saint Vincent, racing a time of 1:12.07 for Saint Vincent.
The Bearcats will now take the next month off for the Christmas holiday, before returning to action on Friday, January 16, once again traveling to Youngstown for the Youngstown Collegiate Invitational. The event is expected to begin at 1 p.m.
